Bonnaroo, the city comes to life!

I will start off to say that I love Bonnaroo AND I really love David Byrne. Having David at Bonnaroo is completely powerful!

I was checking out a few music blogs, and perusing the official Bonnaroo website yesterday. There is a lot of artistic genius at this Year's Festival anyway, then I read "the" news. Mr. Byrne is want to have his very own stage so he can collaborate with whatever musicians he wants to. Being David Byrne has advantages, he can choose which artists he wants to perform with and create magic with. He wants to work with Ani Defranco. That right there makes me respect and like him even more. This is genius and historic all in one! Having the first ever artist curated stage is so exciting. The lucky people who will descend onto this stage will see not only the 2 above mentioned artists, but will also hear and see Santigold, whom he has recently collaberated with. Also on the bill is Dirty Projectors, St. Vincent, and a crazy-amazing, all female Norwegian band Katzenjammer. I have started reading about them, sounds very interesting! I am going to try really hard to be at this stage! I WILL be at David Byrne, no doubt about that!

Bonnaroo has the 'normal' things happenig this year: the Troo lounge, The Comedy Tent,(Jimmy Fallon!?), Brooer's Festival, The Salon (WAY corporate way to get your hair washed and styled, if you don't mind waiting in line for an hour or MORE!), the Silent Disco(awesome!), and of course the Art of Such and Such. These things have been happening since the start of Bonnaroo. There are some new, fun and 'green' stuff happening at this years 'Roo!

Check out the Clean Vibes' Trading Post/ What a great way to get more and more people involved in recycling. Cans and bottles become "currency"; you bring bottles and cans to the Post and you "cash" them in, and you can "purchase" things wiith your recycling you brough them! I think it's a great idea. After seeing the major mounds of trash and stuff that could be recycled, this HAS to be better than not doing anything!!

Go become a DJ in 20 minutes! Yes, Scratch Academy straight out of New York will be on site to answer questions, show off their mad skillz and pick audience members to try some hands on stuff witht the tables. Sounds like fun, and it'll probably be air conditioned....

If your hot, need a place to chill and are truly missing your tv, or even going to the movies, go to the Bonnaroo Cinema! You can hang out in an air conditioned place, where it's comfortable, and you are able to watch comedies, classics, action films and  many other generes of movie you can imagine. It's open 24 hours a day. In the middle of the day, when it's really hot, it's hard to get in there though... I have tried! But once your in, oh it feels great! Take a load off, now they need popcorn....

I really love just walking around and people watching. That is one of my favorite things at Bonnaroo. Especially early in the morning. You get to see folks just falling asleep, or see where other's just fell asleep. Leaning against a wall, half in their tent, half out of there tent! It is hilarious! Go stand in line for coffee after you make your trip to the loo, you will meet the greatest people! Everyone is excited for the days events and all are speculating on their plans, it's fun!

Bonnaroo is a small, ODD city that springs up in a Tennesee field in a really hot part of the summer. You have to really love music and love seeing new things. This place is nute,! It gets weirder and weirder every year! As more and more people decide to go, and more, different bands get signed on, the crowd also grows and grows!

I suggest go NOW, it'll only get bigger! And maybe more corporate as well... I sure hope not!
