The best songs to spin fire to

I have been doing a lot of hula hooping lately, both on fire and with out. I have a nice little burn on my left arm to show off.... I like it, it's not too big, but it looks funny! I have no way to listen to music outside while hooping so I listen to music inside when I hoop and I love certain songs. Some music really brings the groove out, while other's are for mellow hooping. I even have music for "angry hooping", that would be Tool, and some Punk! So I thought I would write about the music that really rocks my hooping world.

Songs that have the word "fire" in the title or lyrics.... this is of course good for fire hoopin'...

~"Ring of Fire" Johnny Cash, or even the Ray Charles version.... very classic...

~"Fire" (Rotkappchen Remix) by The Whip, very, very cool...

~Bassnectar, anything, anything at all....

~"Whole Lotta Love" Led Zeppelin ANY kind of hoopin'.....

~"Firestarter" Prodigy, just a great beat, and fun since your IN the fire anyway!

~"Edit" I like a lot of his stuff to groove to, fire or not...

~"Fire Like This" I have listened to it once, by finding it on You Tube and it's great! (Maybe, by Mutaytor)???

~I love hooping to Widespread Panic, love it sooo much!!!

~"Burning Down the House" Talking Heads   This says it all....

~"String Cheese Incident" older stuff, for me is where it's at!

~"Superstition" Stevie Wonder or the Widespread Panic version great to really get the groove on, gets the hips movin'

I guess any music is good to spin to if gets you going, keeps you movin' and lasts as long as you can hoop, or as long as your lit up! I know there are tons of great songs, DJ's, etc... that I don't even know about, these are just a few of my choices. Good ones I do say so...

How do you feel when you fire hoop? Alive? Joyous? at Peace? One with it all? I sure feel a mix of all of these things whenever I light up. I feel confident in myself, even though I am no performer, I love to be around the element of fire. It's mesmerizing and captivating!

I like to watch other's when they begin this ritual. Their faces are different.... Some are excited, like a kid, other's are serious, and focused. I am all of these, as I feel like a kid who is an adult(!!??), I need to have respect for the fire and be focused all at the same time. It's quite a lot, but not really... Hard to explain I guess!

I just truly love being in the midst of the sound of the flames and love watching others embark on their flaming journey as well!
