my friends would be proud....

I thought I would write for a bit on the music I am currently listening to. Yep, I am listening to Radiohead! See for me this is a bit odd, I never HATED Radiohead, HATE is such a strong word that I don't use much anymore, but I never really LIKED them that much. I know, I know, weird, huh? I have had words with many a friend over the non-Radiohead useage in my life. Well this here post will make the following people proud:
Michele, I have no idea if you are even going to read this or not(you should!) but I am totally, with all my being listening to your favorite band. Yes, Me, I am and I LIKE it! I was listening to something else in the CD player and my housemate had this in there and I kept it in. I like it and I am ok with it. Just so you know!
Tony(Farmer), I also don't know if you are going to read this but I want you to know as well that I am listening to Radiohead. No one twisted my arm and I am not wasted either. I am totally aware of my music selection, and I know we had the discussion before of what I thought(used to) of Radiohead. Sorry that happened, things change, I changed, we all evolve! Now you just need to listen to Bassnectar... hahaha... I got ya there!!
There are a few more people out there that thought I was a weirdo for not listening to Radiohead but the two I spoke of were the ones that actually gave me S*/% about not listening to one of the greatest bands... well I will keep my opinions to myself on that one! I LOVE what I love and I LIKE what I like! To each his(or her) own, as my grandma used to always say.
So I will follow up with my Bonnaroo posting that I wrote a few days ago. I see that my 3rd favorite artist EVER is playing at the 'Roo this year. If you know me, you'll know I mean David Byrne! I am so enthralled by him.... He is an amazing musician and I love his voice, That VOICE of his just sends me into another realm....
I have been lucky enough to have seen ALL of my favorite bands except for two, that would be Led Zeppelin and Talking Heads. Damn this age thing, why couldn't I have been a roadie for either of them 'back then'? Why??? Anyway, I LOVE Widespread Panic and yes I write about them a lot or at least reference them in a lot of my posts on here and on my other blog.... http://magicbliss.today.com (yep I plugged myself here!) I have seen them numerous times and I can't get enough. They just have this energy! Oh no, here I go... Ok back to Bonnaroo, and David Byrne. I WILL see David Byrne if it kills me, and I will walk there to do it, but I know I won't have to go that far! So I know I won't be seeing the Talking Heads BUT I will be seeing Mr. Byrne and that will definitely be just as good. My soul will thank me later!
I am already seriously excited RIGHT now, as if I were going in a few days. I love live music so much, I feel so lucky to have seen so much in my lifetime. So many people I know really want to see, say Radiohead as an example, but they just DON'T! I say make time! GO, see some music. Life is about experiences, so go have some!
I am also happy to see on the Bonnaroo roster, NIN! Hell yes! I mean last year I saw Metallica, right up front too, and I know it wasn't exactly a METAL show or anything that they are used to playing, but they rocked! They are an amazing, and dynamic band.
Al Green, really?? Can you say sweet!??! All these fine musicians all in one place for a few days under the hot Tennessee sun, I can't miss it, it's just too good!
I was also just perusing the Wakarusa website for this year and their line up is one of the best I have seen. I went a few years back to this Festival and it was fun, but so WINDY! It was in Kansas then, now since moving to the Ozarks I can only imagine wonderful things for this festival. The festival grounds are majestic and the drive in is beautiful. I would definitely like to do this as well as Bonnaroo... Hmmm, can I swing it? I will try hard, I'll tell you that!
ANyone that knows me, knows how much I love, love, Buckethead! I see that he will be at Wakarusa as well as Les Claypool. This makes me think of my first Bonnaroo, where I saw Les Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains(Buckethead thrashing on the guitar!)That show... oh my! So if they are going to be in the same place during the same weekend... I only hope a jam session will occur!
Jimmy Herring Band!!!!!!!!!!! I am a huge fan of him as well! Again with the Widespread Panic... :) I see STS9 will be here too. Check them out, I think they have a myspace(who doesn't) and you can hear how great they are.
I hate to end this but looking at the clock I really should go to sleep! I am a working girl now and 6 am comes mighty early! ouch!!!
I will be dancing in the sunny rays during my peaceful slumber...
Dancing, loving sharing the same groove~
